Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has taken art in the final meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the 6th World Meeting of Speakers of Parliament on 29 July.

It should be mentioned that the Speakers of Parliament elected to the Committee from the Inter-parliamentary Union Geographic Groups attended the meeting..

In her introductory address that opened the meeting, resident of the Inter-parliamentary Union Tulia Ackson  provided information on the agenda of the meeting. It was noted that the World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments includes a total of 120 delegations, comprising speakers of parliaments from 102 countries.

During the event, an exchange of views took place regarding the work carried out in preparation for the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments, the report of the Committee’s last meeting, the adoption of the final document of the World Conference and other organisational matters.
