Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova Meets with Ambassador of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Our Country

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova had a meeting on 3 September with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to our country Omar Barakat Al-Nahar.

The Speaker of the Milli Majlis talked about our bilateral connexions’ having attained an elevated level in the 32 years since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan, as well as about the currently present fine opportunities to broaden the co-operation further in various areas.

The current standards of the inter-parliamentary links between our countries were commended as the meeting went on; they, besides, underscored the role of reciprocal visits and of the work done by the parliamentary friendship groups in the deepening of the relations. Speaker Sahiba Gafarova expressed contentment with the Jordanian Parliament’s energetic engagement in the work of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Further, Sahiba Gafarova voiced her opinions about the progress of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia and about also of the co-operation between the parliaments of Jordan and Azerbaijan in international institutions, and wished the Ambassador success in his continued endeavours.

Ambassador of Jordan to our country Omar Barakat Al-Nahar witnessed satisfaction with his ambassial mission in Azerbaijan, thanked for the meeting and told about the work done during his diplomatic tenure in our country to strengthen the bilateral relations further. The Ambassador stressed that he would continue making efforts for the development of the links between our countries.

The meeting also saw an exchange of opinions as to other matters of shared interest.
