Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova had a meeting with Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Malaysia Awang Bemee bin Awang Ali Basah

The Chairman of the Senate registered satisfaction with the current level of the relations between our countries and parliaments, mentioning his conviction that the current visit of the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament would contribute to the progress of our countries’ relationship. He praised highly our legislatures’ joint activities on such international inter-parliamentary platforms as AIPA.

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova commented on the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, our parliaments’ co-operation in international organisation and parliament’s roles in addressing the issues concerning people.

The conversation also broached the growth prospects of the inter-parliamentary collaboration in the context of the bilateral relations; the significance of interacting upon international platforms was underlined as well. Contentment was expressed with our legislative bodies’ fruitful co-operation, bilateral and via international parliamentary organisations alike.

As she talked about Azerbaijan’s achievements in various areas over the past years, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis also told of the tremendous restoration and building work afoot in the de-occupied territories.

Besides, the meeting saw an exchange of opinions about other topics of shared interest.
