Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva on the fringes of the 152^nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) taking place in Istanbul.

Contentment was expressed at the meeting with the current condition of the relations between the two fraternal countries. They made a point of highlighting the contribution that the Parliaments make to that co-operation.

The importance of continuing the expansion of the Parliaments’ co-operation was touched upon in the conversation, be it bilateral or in international organisations. The sides voiced satisfaction with solidarity and mutual support in parliamentary organisations. It was said in this sense that the IPU is an important platform, and it was also pointed out that the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, too, matters dramatically for the co-operation between the Parliaments of the two countries.

The conversation also had an exchange of opinions about other matters of shared interest.
