Speaker Sahiba Gafarova attends opening ceremony of 152nd Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union

The parliamentary delegation led by Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova who are in the city of Istanbul of Türkiye have attended the opening ceremony of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş, IPU President Tulia Ackson, IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong and UN Co-ordinator Babatunde Ahonsi spoke at the event, stating their views as to the relevance of the forthcoming discussions and wishing the event success in its work.
The Assembly themed ‘Nurturing Hope, Securing Peace and Ensuring Justice for Future Generations’ will see discussions of initiatives aiming continued reinforcement of the pertaining work of the Parliaments. They will also review relevant co-operation opportunities.
