Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova attends opening ceremony of IPU 153rd Assembly

The opening ceremony of the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union has taken place in the town of Arusha in the United Republic of Tanzania.

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has taken part in the ceremony.

Prime Minister of Tanzania Mwigulu Nchemba, Speaker of the Parliament Mussa Zungu, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Tulia Ackson and Secretary General of the Organisation Anda Filip spoke at the event and shared their ideas concerning the relevance of the forthcoming discussions.

The importance of co-operation between national parliaments in the modern system of international relations, including the work of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, was talked about at the opening ceremony as well.
