The delegation consists of members of the Milli Majlis and senior officers of the Staff of the Azerbaijani Parliament.

While on the visit, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis will discuss the current state and the progress prospects of the interparliamentary relations with Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin.  

Besides, Mrs Gafarova is expected to speak at a plenary session of the Federation Council and meet with Russian Federation Foreign Minister Serghey Lavrov. Also, a co-operation agreement between the Milli Majlis and the State Duma is going to be signed during the visit to the latter.

The intended meetings will be dedicated to regular two-way visits between the Parliaments, exchanging experience and information about legislative processes, our delegations contributing to the work done by the important international organisations, ways to resolve regional conflicts, making the bilateral economic, political, cultural and humanitarian ties stronger and other subjects.

This visit will end on 23 September.
