Chair of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova is in Russia on an Official Visit

The Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation led by Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova left for Russian Federation on an official visit on 21 September.

This is Mrs Gafarova’s first official visit to Russia as a speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan.

The delegation consists of Committee Chairman Samad Seyidov, Head of the Working Group for Interparliamentary Relations with Russia Nizami Safarov, the MPs Eldar Guliyev, Mikhail Zabelin, Amina Agazade and Tural Ganjaliyev, Chief of the Milli Majlis Staff Safa Mirzayev, Head of the International Relations Department Ilkin Mammadov and other officials.

The delegation of Milli Majlis was welcomed at the ‘Domodedovo’ Airport of Moscow by Deputy Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Ilyas Umakhanov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu and other members of the Russian official circles.

Sahiba Gafarova is beginning a string of formal meetings in line with the itinerary of the visit tomorrow.

The MPs are elected as based on the majority electoral system by free, private and confidential vote reliant on the general, equitable and immediate suffrage. The tenure of a Milli Majlis convocation is 5 years.
