Participants of Baku Conference of NAM Parliamentary Network Praise the Event

The 30 June-1 July Baku Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement’s Parliamentary Network established upon the instance of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan is remembered for its achievements.

As we reported earlier, the PN’s Statute on Working Modalities, official logo and flag were chosen, the Baku Declaration was adopted and the Network’s Chair and Vice Chairs had been elected at the event attended by more than 40 national parliamentary delegations and representatives of over 10 international organisations.

The conference participants travelled to the de-occupied territories of Azerbaijan including the town of Shusha and could witness the restoration and re-construction work in progress there.

The delegation leaders and members have shared their thoughts and impressions of the Baku Conference with mass media, and we are quoting some of those commentaries for you here:

 

Mustafa Şentop,

Chairman, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey:

‘I highly commend the efforts made to reinforce the Non-Aligned Movement’s activity during the Azerbaijani chairmanship. I consider that Azerbaijan has a grand role in injecting new force in the Non-Aligned Movement.’
