Work on Political Parties Law Continues at Milli Majlis

As previously reported, members of all the political parties present in the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic have appealed to the Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova about drawing up a new Political Parties Bill. The appeal emphasises the utmost need in the new law adequate to modern national development realities and the call of the time.

The work on this new law that has a tremendous social significance has been started and continues as instructed by Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. The state-registered political parties listed below have submitted their relevant proposals for consideration of the Milli Majlis:

The Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan - The state legislative power branch organ is a unicameral parliament that has 125 MPs. The MPs are elected as based on the majority electoral system by free, private and confidential vote reliant on the general, equitable and immediate suffrage. The tenure of a Milli Majlis convocation is 5 years.
