Sahiba Gafarova’s First Visit as Milli Majlis Speaker will be to Turkey

The delegation led by Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova are leaving to the Turkish Republic on 10 September on what will be Mrs Gafarova’s first official abroad trip as the speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament.

The delegation is made up of the Head of the Milli Majlis Working Group for Interparliamentary Connections with Turkey Ahliman Amiraslanov, parliamentary Committee Chairman Ziyafet Asgarov, the MPs Sevil Mikayilova, Fazil Mustafa, Elshan Musayev and Tural Ganjaliyev, Chief of the Milli Majlis Staff Safa Mirzayev and other officials.

The delegation will gain intimate knowledge of the workings of the Turkish parliament and the local legislative process as they call at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. There will also be a round of opinion exchange with the Turkish colleagues.

Chair Gafarova will meet with Chair of the GNAT Mustafa Sentop to discuss the current interparliamentary links and their future growth, broadening the bilateral co-operation yet further, the implementation of the projects uniting both countries’ efforts and ways to resolve the conflicts present in the region.

Besides, Mrs Gafarova has in plan meetings with the President of the Turkish Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other officials.

While in Turkey, the delegation of Mrs Gafarova will visit the Ataturk Mausoleum ‘Anıtkabir’ in Ankara and will be shown around the historic sites of the Turkish capital.

The visit will end on 12 September.
