Chair of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova Talks to Chair of Parliament of People’s Republic of Bangladesh
Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova had a conversation with Chair of the Parliament of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury as part of Mrs Gafarova’s working trip to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Sahiba Gafarova spoke about the fruitful co-operation under way between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh in international organisations such as the UN, the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation and the Non-Aligned Movement as well as in the regional entities. She emphasised our side’s high estimate of the Bangladeshi support for Azerbaijan’s fair stance on the recovery of her lands from the Armenian occupation – the support given in the Non-Aligned Movement as well as through the Organisation of Islamic Co-Operation.
Having touched on the positive linkage between our states, Mrs Gafarova proceeded to underline the significance of reciprocal visits of various statuses and varied topicality for the progress of the bilateral relations. Expansion of the Azerbaijani-Bangladeshi legal framework could make a contribution of its own to building up yet closer connexions. At the same time, co-operation between our parliaments is capable of bearing well on the growth of the inter-state links, in the opinion of Mrs Gafarova.
Chair of the Parliament of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury mentioned the big weight the PRB gave to furthering her relations with Azerbaijan and the PRB being keen therefore to arrange interrelations in many areas. Besides, there are fine opportunities to broaden the contacts between the legislatures in order to deepen the inter-state relations further.
Mrs Chaudhury said then that Bangladesh considered her bonds with the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, established upon the instance of the President of Azerbaijan, to be of importance, as can be seen from that there was a Bangladeshi delegation at the Baku Conference of the NAM PN. Mrs Chaudhury also pointed out the gravity of the topics that had been broached at the conference conducted in the capital city of Azerbaijan.
Other matters of shared interest were talked over, too, as the conversation drew on.
