Participants of 14th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament Travelled to Samarqand

As reported already, Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova paid a working visit to Uzbekistan’s capital city of Tashkent to take part in the 14th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament there. On 10 September, the participants of the gathering arrived in the town of Samarqand.

Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva, Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Martin Chungong, the Speakers of Parliament late of the summit and their delegations went to the historical and cultural landmarks of Samarqand – such as the Ulugh Beg Observatory, the mausoleums of St Daniil and Bibikhanim, the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, the Rigiston Square and the mausoleum of Amir Timur. The visitors were supplied with detailed information about the historical highlights of Samarqand.
