Raising professionalism of employees is known well to be one of the topmost issues on the current agenda; this issue is being addressed in the Bill containing amendments to the Labour Code of the Azerbaijan Republic that arrived at the Milli Majlis a few days back in the way of the Head of State’s legislative initiative.

Cultivating highly professional human resources by raising citizens’ knowledge and skills with reliance upon the opportunities that the modern technologies are affording us is one of the pillars of our country’s successful advancement. Now, the amendments to the Code as presented specifically bring along a legal regulation of the targeted application of such resources that are present in the modern labour market.

Once enacted, the aforementioned amendments will stimulate the in-service strengthening of employees’ professional training and backgrounds seeing them acquire new occupations and increasing their qualifications.
