Vice Speaker Adil Aliyev Elected Deputy Chair of CIS IPA Permanent Defence and Security Commission

The Permanent Commission on Defence and Security Matters of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States held a meeting on 23 September.

In his opening notes, Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis and head of the parliamentary Youth and Sports Committee Adil Aliyev greeted the participants of the meeting and wished the commission success in its work. Mr Aliyev touched on the significance of security matters and of the inviolability of borders before saying that states should live in peace and accord and with respect for each other’s borders. Inter-state relations are regulated with reliance upon the international law standards, Mr Aliyev pointed out. He proceeded to provide the participants of the meeting with ample information about its agenda and the prepared draft laws.

They were discussing the National Security Bill and amending the model laws ‘On Security of Borders’ and ‘On the State Border’.

Adil Aliyev was elected Deputy Chair of CIS IPA Permanent Defence and Security Commission.

The member of the Milli Majlis Arzu Naghiyev took part in the same meeting.
