The Bureau of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly Held a Meeting

The Head of the Azerbaijan Parliamentary Delegation to the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly Elnur Allahverdiyev and the Delegation Member Nasib Mahamaliyev joined the 15th meeting of the Bureau of the GUAM PA held as a videoconference on 10 February.

The meeting participants looked at confirming make-ups of the national delegations to the GUAM PA committees in 2021, the outcomes of the unscheduled Bureau meeting, the work done by the parliamentary election monitoring mission on Georgia, the draft declaration of the 13th meeting of the GUAM PA and other matters.

Chairman of the GUAM PA and Leader of the Azerbaijani Delegation Elnur Allahverdiyev thanked the PA member-states for having supported at the 14th Bureau meeting on 24 July 2020 the just stance Azerbaijan had taken with regards to the tensions caused by Armenia’s provocation on the line of contact between the Armenian and Azerbaijani forces.

Mr Allahverdiyev said that the valiant Azerbaijani Army led by Commander-in-Chief and President Ilham Aliyev won the 44-day Patriotic War and freed our lands from the occupiers’ grip.

The Head of the Georgian Parliamentary Delegation to the GUAM PA Gheorghi Khelashvili, the Head of the Ukrainian Parliamentary Delegation Sviatoslav Yurash and the Head of the Moldovan Parliamentary Delegation Alexandru Jizdan commented on the agenda items as the discussions followed.

GUAM PA Secretary General Altay Efendiyev let his opinion and proposals about making the co-operative ties yet stronger be known during the meeting, too.

The chairmanship of the GUAM PA was relegated to Georgia at the same online meeting.
