In a Meeting with World Bank Representatives at Milli Majlis

The chairman of the parliamentary Economic Policy, Industries and Enterprising Committee Tahir Mirkishili and members of his committee had a meeting with the representatives of the World Bank at the Milli Majlis on 11 October.

The exchange of greetings was followed by a conversation about the significance of the links between Azerbaijan and the World Bank, with Mr Mirkishili bringing up the means to make the national budgetary system steadier and sharing his relevant opinions.

Next, the deputy committee chairman Ali Masimli and the committee members Vugar Bayramov, Aydin Huseynov, Mazahir Efendiyev and Mahir Abbaszade as well as the head of the Economic Legislation Department of the Milli Majlis Staff Muhammad Bazigov talked about the budgetary processes and sustainability of the budgetary system in our country as well as the appraisal criteria of the Medium-Term Spending Framework.

In turn, the WB’s Mark Robinson, Marco Cangiano and Ana Palacio as well as a project head with the Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation Aytan Akhundova touched upon raising fiscal stability and the international experience in budget rules and the Medium-Term Spending Frameworks. They also commented on the importance of the co-operation in the given context.

The conversation moved on to other subjects of shared interest afterwards.
