Delegation of St Petersburg Legislative Assembly Go to Great Leader’s Graveside, Martyrs’ Lane

The delegation of the Legislative Assembly of St Petersburg led by the LA Chairman Alexander Belsky went to the Alley of Honour and the Martyrs’ Lane on 31 October.

First, the delegation of the ‘Northern Palmyra’ legislators came to the graveside of our national leader, architect and builder of the modern Azerbaijani State – Heydar Aliyev. They paid their respects in memoriam, put a wreath before the graveside and adorned it with fresh flowers.

Following that, the guests directed their steps to the Martyrs’ Lane in order to honour the memories of the heroes, the Motherland’s sons fallen for her independence and the wholeness of her national territory. Their gravesides were decorated with flower bouquets, after which the delegation also called at the Eternal Flame Memorial.

As they admired the cityscape sprawling before them from the highest point of Baku, the guests listened to the story about the background of the Martyrs’ Lane and about also the building and amenity work going on all over the capital city.

The head of the working group for inter-parliamentary connexions with Russia Nizami Safarov and other officials accompanied the delegation of the St Petersburg Legislative Assembly.
