Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova had a meeting on 31 October with the visiting delegation of the Legislative Assembly of St Petersburg led by Chair of the LA Alexander Belsky.

Their conversation revolved round the significance of reciprocal visits, the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijani-Russian diplomatic relations this year and the place occupied in the progress of the bilateral co-operation by the personal linkage between the leaders of our states.

Besides, they underlined the importance of political, economic, humanitarian and inter-parliamentary co-operation as well as of the connexions amongst our countries’ regions for the overall relations.

There was an exchange of opinions about the relations of Milli Majlis with the Federation Council and the State Duma alike as well as the co-operation afoot under the aegis of international parliamentary entities and about also the work done by the inter-parliamentary friendship groups.

The head of the Azerbaijan-Russia inter-parliamentary connexions working group Nizami Safarov, Chief of the Milli Majlis Staff Farid Hajiyev and Azerbaijan’s Consul General in St Petersburg were amongst the meeting’s participants.
