A Meeting with Delegation of St Petersburg Legislative Assembly at Milli Majlis

First Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis, chairman of the Law Policy and State-Building Committee Ali Huseynli had a meeting with the visiting delegation of the Legislative Assembly of St Petersburg led by the LA Chairman Alexander Belsky on 31 October.

The meeting went with the attendance of Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis, chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee Adil Aliyev, head of the Azerbaijan-Russia inter-parliamentary connexions working group Nizami Safarov and group member Amina Agazade.

The existing firm links between the two states and the role of the inter-parliamentary connexions in the overall advancement of the inter-state relations were brought up during the conversation. So were also the praiseworthy work done by the two legislatures’ inter-parliamentary friendship groups, the liaison between the Milli Majlis and the Legislative Assembly of St Petersburg and the importance of meetings like the current one for the on-going experience and information exchanges.

Besides, the conversation revolved round advancing cultural ties and interaction in sports, education and tourism, and the activities of the two sides’ diasporas, which activities it was agreed were commendable.

Other matters of shared interest were brought up at the meeting as well.
