Our MPs to Keep an Eye on Presidential Election in Kazakhstan

A group of Milli Majlis members are leaving for Astana on 17 November to monitor the forthcoming extraordinary presidential election in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The MPs Jalal Aliyeva and Naghif Hamzayev will monitor the election for the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly whereas MP Vugar Isgandarov is going over to watch the proceedings under the auspices of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA).

The international monitors including our legislators will check for the degree of preparedness for the ballot and will be tracing the process at the precincts as well as citizens’ activity levels.

This trip to Kazakhstan will come to conclusion on 23 November.

The MPs are elected as based on the majority electoral system by free, private and confidential vote reliant on the general, equitable and immediate suffrage. The tenure of a Milli Majlis convocation is 5 years.
