Members of the Milli Majlis Working Group for Azerbaijan-Chile inter-parliamentary connexions had an online meeting with the colleagues in the Chile-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group of the Chilean National Congress on 15 December.

Head of the Milli Majlis WG Azer Badamov told the Chilean parliamentarians about Azerbaijan having liberated her lands from Armenian occupation in the course of the 44 days’ Patriotic War. He added that the provinces ridded of the captivity that had lasted for three decades are going through the process of fast-paced restoration. The ‘smart’ village and town projects are afoot over there; the former IDP have begun to return to their native parts, besides, according to Mr Badamov.

Head of the Chilean friendship group Francisco Xavier Chahuán talked about future growth of the Chilean-Azerbaijani relations, the importance of the meetings like this one and Azerbaijan’s victory in the Patriotic War.

The prospects of interaction in the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement were brought up as well.

The above-said Milli Majlis group’s MPs Sevinj Fataliyeva, Nigyar Arpadarai and Igbal Mammadov addressed the topic of the ties of friendship between our countries and stressed the need to promote a further growth of the inter-parliamentary links.

All the participants of the meeting shared the conviction that the bilateral economic, environmental, investment and other contacts and interaction will continue progressing.
