The members of the Milli Majlis Working Group for the Azerbaijan-Estonia Interparliamentary Contacts have sent a letter to the Leader of the Estonia-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Working Group Sven Sester with a high appraisal to the statement made by Mr Sester’s Group on occasion of the 29th anniversary of the Khojali Genocide and published on the official website of the Estonian Parliament, Riigikogu. The letter expresses the gratitude of the Working Group of the Azerbaijani Parliament for that statement signalling support and grieving with the people of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan attaches a great importance to co-operating with Estonia; the Azerbaijani side are certain that our interparliamentary co-operation will continue progressing and that parliamentary diplomacy will bring about on-going development of our nations’ prosperity whilst also strengthening the ties between them, the letter reads.

It will be remembered that the aforementioned Riigikogu Working Group led by Mr Sester issued a statement in connection with the 29th anniversary of the Khojali Genocide deploring Armenia’s crime against the peaceful population of Azerbaijan committed during the night of 25 February to 26 February 1992 and calling for prosecution of those who committed that mass murder.
