Chair of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova has had a meeting with Chairman of the Consultative Assembly of the Sultanate of Oman Halid bin Hilal Al Mawali in the course of her working trip to Algeria for the 17th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States.

The two exchanged opinions about the current state of the bilateral inter-state and inter-parliamentary relations, underscored the positive role of Azerbaijan’s legislative assembly and Oman’s legislative consultative body in the continuing broadening of our relationship and, in particular, stressed the significance of our co-operation and mutual support within international organisations. Information was then supplied as to the workings of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, established upon the instance of the President of Azerbaijan, and about also the run-up to the Network’s next conference.

Sahiba Gafarova also told of the 27 January terrorist onslaught on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran, adding that the Republic of Azerbaijan was adamant that it be investigated after a transparent and unbiased fashion. Several countries had sternly condemned this evil act already, Mrs Gafarova added.

Chair of the Milli Majlis also provided Chairman of the Consultative Assembly in great detail of the new situation in our region following the Azerbaijani victory in the Patriotic War and the large-scale restoration of our liberated lands that goes on at the full steam currently.
