The Milli Majlis Committee for Agrarian Policy had a meeting on 31 January with the visiting delegation led by Şamil Ayrım, head of the group of friendship with Azerbaijan in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.

Chairman of the Azerbaijani parliamentary committee Tahir Rzayev greeted the guests before talking about the constant growth of the Azerbaijani-Turkish friendship, brotherhood and unity – a relationship setting an example for the whole world and growing stronger for the mutual good from day to day. The exceptional inputs in this process of the countries’ leaders Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan were mentioned as well; according to Mr Rzayev, they pursue a universal policy serving humaneness, peace and tranquillity.

Tahir Rzayev also brought up the jealousy of our country’s successes on the part of Iran which keeps calling itself our brother in creed, though. Mr Rzayev mentioned the armed assault upon the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran.

Leader of the GNAT group of friendship with Azerbaijan Şamil Ayrım said he was glad to have revisited our country and stressed his condemnation of the terrorist attack upon the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran, which, he added, indicated a failure to observe the provisions of the Vienna Convention and a failure also to take appropriate precautions. In general, that attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran is a very lamentable occurrence, according to the Turkish MP.

Azerbaijan is not the same as thirty years ago; neither is Türkiye, according to Mr Ayrım. We know what we’re going to do. Nobody can derange the Turkish-Azerbaijani solidarity within the existing geography. The alliance of our countries has brought about a further animation of connexions amongst the Turkic states, besides, Mr Ayrım pointed out.

He went further to speak about the events slated in Azerbaijan and Türkiye alike to mark the centenary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The Azerbaijani MPs Eldar Ibrahimov, Emin Hajiyev, Mushfig Jafarov, Aydin Huseynov and Igbal Mammadov commented on the brotherhood and bonds of amity between our countries.

Other matters of shared interest were talked of as well.
