Members of our working group for the Azerbaijan-Türkiye inter-parliamentary connexions had a meeting on 1 February with the visiting delegation led by Şamil Ayrım who is head of the Azerbaijan friendship group in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.

Chairman of our Health Committee and leader of the aforementioned Azerbaijan-Türkiye group Ahliman Amiraslanov stressed during their conversation the example that the Azerbaijani-Turkish friendship and fraternity set for the world to follow. He said that the bilateral relations had evolved into an alliance with the inking of the Shusha Declaration, and mentioned Türkiye having been the first state ever to condemn the terrorist attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran – which fact only goes to testify all that he’d said.

The exceptional roles of the presidents Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the deepening of the relations were mentioned as well. Both leaders pursue universal policies and are advocates of peace and stability in the region, according to Mr Amiraslanov.

Türkiye is on the verge of new presidential elections; so Mr Amiraslanov wished the brotherly country their successful conduct.

Head of the GNAT group of friendship with Azerbaijan Şamil Ayrım touched on the bilateral ties as well, saying that the two states were bonded together inseparably and emphasising the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev’s input in the broadening of the connexions.

Azerbaijan wishes peace and tranquillity in the region, as can be seen, if only that, from the action on the Lachin-Khankendi road, in the opinion of Mr Ayrım who stressed that the protests of the Azerbaijani environmentalists and activists were well-founded given that it was the riches of their country that were being pillaged. The GNAT’s group he is heading will continue its endeavours to ensure that the righteous voice of Azerbaijan would reach the global community, Mr Ayrım pointed out.

The celebrations in the making on the occasion of the forthcoming centennial jubilee of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev were brought as well as the conversation rolled on.

The members of the Milli Majlis Fazail Agamali, Vahid Ahmadov, Sadig Gurbanov and Hijran Huseynova and the GNAT group’s Tulay Kaynarca shared their thoughts about the fraternity and friendly ties between our countries.

The other Azerbaijani parliamentarians who took part in the meeting as well were Eldar Ibrahimov, Eldar Guliyev, Fazil Mustafa, Malahat Ibrahimghizi, Anar Mammadov, Nizami Safarov, Amina Agazade, Jala Aliyeva, Azay Guliyev and Ramin Hasan.
