Great Leader Heydar Aliyev Centenary Exhibition in Milli Majlis Buildings
An exhibition was organised in the Milli Majlis Buildings on 16 May on the occasion of the 100th jubilee of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. The overseas visitors to Azerbaijan, here to participate in the Parliament’s special jubilee session, viewed the exhibition before the start of that session.
Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova, the Speakers, Vice Speakers and Members of Parliament, delegates of international organisations and overseas diplomats were all there.
First, the guests were introduced to the 100-photograph exhibition covering various periods of the remarkable statesman Heydar Aliyev’s life and political career. The eight exposition sections tell, in their visual tongue, the history of Heydar Aliyev beginning with his childhood and youth on to his service in the State Security Authorities, the first period of helming Azerbaijan, the service in the USSR top echelon of power, his life in Nakhchivan, presidency over the Azerbaijani Parliament and the second span in which he led our country. The viewers were told of the unprecedented services of Heydar Aliyev to the state and the people, of the political wisdom he had always manifested in the most fateful episodes of national history and the tremendous work he had done to make the modern independent Azerbaijan happen.
The guests then moved over to the paintings by MP and Merited Artiste Ulviya Hamzayeva – all new-style and all about Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. The audience were told that the paintings ‘Heydar Aliyev’, ‘You’re Free, Shusha’, ‘The Spirit of Turan’, ‘Noah’s Deluge’ and the others had been wrought using national symbols, mythology and ancient motifs.
The items at the exhibition aroused the viewers’ intense interest.
