As we already reported, the interparliamentary friendship groups of the Milli Majlis and the Sejm of Lithuania had a videoconferencing-mode meeting and exchanged opinions about the 29th anniversary of the Khojali Genocide on 25 February. The official website of the Sejm has a detailed coverage of that meeting.

The web article says that the Armenian occupiers, while launching a military operation, destroyed with utmost cruelty the civil population of the town of Khojali, captured and wounded hundreds of people on 26 February 1992.

The members of the Lithuanian parliament consider that bloody and outrageous occurrence in the history of the Azerbaijani people a crime against humanity. It is underlined in the same article that Lithuanian film-makers have completed a documentary about that tragedy, entitled ‘An Endless Corridor’ and depicting the bloodcurdling episodes of the massacre in Khojali.

Leader of the Friendship Group for Azerbaijan at the Lithuanian Sejm Kazys Starkevičius emphasises the condemnation of the Khojali Genocide, the support to Azerbaijan’s just standpoint regarding it and his own advocacy of the Azerbaijani people’s cause. The victims of Khojali will also be commemorated at the Lithuanian Embassy in Baku.
