As she was receiving a delegation led by Chairman of the Republic of Kazakhstan Parliament’s Mazhilis Yerlan Qoşanov, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova thanked the delegation member for having attended the special Great Leader Heydar Aliyev Centenary sitting of the Azerbaijani Parliament and Mr Qoşanov personally for his speech at that sitting.

It was said then that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan were friendly and brotherly countries, that the basis for their relationship had been laid by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and that, finally, their interaction went on successfully these days through the care of both countries’ leaders. The Azerbaijani-Kazakh ties are going upwards politically, economically, culturally as well as in the humanitarian field; interparliamentary relations are an integral part of them. The exchange of visits and regular meetings between our parliamentarians serve the common cause.

The leader of the Mazhilis of the Kazakh Parliament Yerlan Qoşanov said that he observed progress in Azerbaijan on his each coming to Baku. Azerbaijan, the brainchild of Heydar Aliyev, is now accomplishing and achieving what Heydar Aliyev used to dream of – thus the designs of this great personality are being carried into life, in Mr Qoşanov’s opinion. Azerbaijan is a steady and developing country that enjoys a special position in her region, Mr Qoşanov added.

Other issues of interest to both sides were broached during the meeting as well.
