A Meeting at Milli Majlis with Delegation of RF Federal Assembly’s Federation Council

First Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis/head of the parliamentary Law Policy and State Building Committee Ali Huseynli had a meeting on 16 May with the delegation of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation led by First Deputy Chairman of the RF FA Federation Council Andrey Yatskin.

Mr Huseynli gave a hearty welcome to the guests who had arrived in our country for the special National Leader Heydar Aliyev Centenary parliamentary sitting. He also passed on the regards of Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.

The unparalleled merits of the Grand Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Azerbaijani history were broached then. The First Vice Speaker mentioned the speedy progress of our country thanks to the policy of the National Leader, adding that Azerbaijan’s foreign politics including relations with Russia had turned for better with Heydar Aliyev’s taking over the national helm.

The Azerbaijani-Russian relations with their history spanning several centuries rest on the traditionally friendly ties whilst the bilateral co-operation had attained a new level under the guidance of both states’ Presidents. The inter-parliamentary connexions are advancing and becoming enriched with new content as dynamically, according to Mr Huseynli.

First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrey Yatskin, in turn, referred to Azerbaijan as a friendly state. As regards the current links and their prospects, Mr Yatskin said he was certain of their continued progress and strengthening. He also underscored the necessity of broadening the inter-parliamentary connexions further.

MP Mikhail Zabelin heading the Azerbaijan-Russia inter-parliamentary connexions working group, too, talked about the prospects of the bilateral relations.

Besides, the two sides exchanged opinions about other matters of shared concern.
