A Meeting at Milli Majlis
Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis/head of the parliamentary Public Associations and Religious Entities Committee Fazail Ibrahimli met with Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania’s Parliament Vasile Daniel Suciu on May 16.
Fazail Ibrahimli praised the guest's participation in the special sitting of the Milli Majlis on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Speaking about the celebration of this event, Mr Ibrahimli also told Mr Suciu about the huge work Mr Aliyev had put into preserving and strengthening the Azerbaijani statehood.
The Vice Speaker moved on to the high level of Azerbaijan-Romania relations. Romania was one of the first countries to recognise Azerbaijan's independence, Mr Ibrahimli stressed before touching on the strategic partnership between the two states and the good, friendly relations between our peoples.
Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of Romanian Parliament Vasile-Daniel Suciu said that he was visiting Azerbaijan for the first time and that Romania attaches great importance to the development of co-operation with our country. He also noted with pleasure the strong friendship of our peoples and states as well as the interstate strategic partnership. Mr Suciu, moreover, brought up the prospects for the development of ties between our countries and said there were good opportunities for their expansion in various fields.
The prospects for developing relations and furthering co-operation between our countries and parliaments were talked over at the meeting as well.
