First Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis/Chairman of the Law Policy and State-Building Committee of the Parliament Ali Huseynli met with Mihai Popșoi, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Moldova on 16 May.

Ali Huseynli informed his guest of the celebration of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s 100^th anniversary this year, and the work carried out during his leadership of our country – both during USSR and throughout the independence years – to improve prosperity of our people and advance the republic, as well as in other as crucial fields. The name of the Leader of the Nation is forever inscribed in the history of Azerbaijan, in which he will remain a genius personality who devoted his life to selfless service to his own people, Mr Huseynli said.

Regarding the Azerbaijani-Moldovan relations, Mr Huseynli stressed the importance of the documents signed during the mutual visits of Heads of State and government officials in deepening the ties between our countries and peoples. There is a vast potential for further the expansion of the bilateral co-operation, in the opinion of the First Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis.

Deputy Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament Mihai Popșoi thanked for the invitation to the Heydar Aliyev Centenary special sitting of the Milli Majlis. The Moldovan guests commented on the ties and co-operation growth prospects of our two states, and underlined the need to continue broadening the interaction for the sake of progress in our relationship.

Other matters of shared interest were talked over as well as the conversation went on.
