Azerbaijani MPs to Observe Extraordinary Presidential Election in Uzbekistan

First Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis/chairman of the parliamentary Law Policy and State Building Committee Ali Huseynli together with Head of the Milli Majlis Commission Eldar Ibrahimov and the MPs Javanshir Pashazade, Elman Nasirov and Arzu Naghiyev will be observing the extraordinary presidential election in Uzbekistan on behalf of the CIS IPA. Their fellow-MPs Fazil Mustafa and Anar Mammadov will be doing the same for the TÜRKPA.

The Azerbaijani MPs are leaving for Uzbekistan on 9 July.

Once there, the MPs will check the precincts for readiness, and, on the day of election, they will be monitoring voter activity and adherence to established procedures.

The MPs are elected as based on the majority electoral system by free, private and confidential vote reliant on the general, equitable and immediate suffrage. The tenure of a Milli Majlis convocation is 5 years.
