Talking to Czech Delegation

Head of the Milli Majlis WG for Azerbaijan-the Czech Republic inter-parliamentary connexions group Elnur Allahverdiyev had a meeting with the delegation of the friendship group for Azerbaijan in the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Jan Kubík on 22 June.

Mr Allahverdiyev welcomed the guests, told them of the immense importance our country attached to furthering comprehensive relations with the Czech Republic and remarked that the bilateral strategic partnership advanced, including very much thanks to the efforts of the two states’ leaders.

The input of both legislatures in deepening the two-way ties was mentioned, too. Elnur Allahverdiyev highlighted the support for the strengthening of the inter-parliamentary co-operation coming from the leader of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. He also commented on the purposeful steps of the working group headed by him to communicate the Azerbaijani realia to the Czech Parliament.

The Czech guests’ trip to the de-occupied town of Aghdam was mentioned. Mr Allahverdiyev said he counted on Czech business people eventually becoming actively involved in the large-scale restoration going on in the Azerbaijan lands freed from the invaders.

Jan Kubík thanked for the meeting before underlining the intention of the Czech Republic to continue developing the relations with the friendly Azerbaijan, stressing the necessity of seeking new interaction opportunities and saying that he was going to start the relevant work on return to his country. Besides, Mr Kubík made it clear that Czech business people could take part in the revival of Garabagh.

Jala Ahmadova and Nurlan Hasanov of the above-said Milli Majlis WG as well as the Czech Ambassador in Baku Milan Sedláček talked about promoting the bilateral relations.

Certain other matters of shared interest were discussed at the meeting, too.
