Delegation of Milli Majlis Held a Number of Bilateral Meetings in Copenhagen
As reported earlier, a group of Members of the Milli Majlis have been in Copenhagen since 6 October for the 69th annual session of the NATO PA.
The group consists of its leader and chairman of our Defence, Security and Anti-Corruption Committee Ziyafet Asgarov, chairman of the Regional Affairs Committee Siyavush Novruzov and MPs Malahat Ibrahimghizi, Kamran Bayramov and Elshan Musayev.
Our delegation have had a number of bilateral meetings with the delegates of other countries on the margins of the sessions as instructed by Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
Bilateral inter-parliamentary connexions’ prospects were discussed with the delegations of Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Serbia and Norway. In particular, then, our MPs informed the colleagues of the developments in the South Caucasus and the current situation in this region. They said, in response to the European counterparts about the latest regional affairs and prospects of the Armenians who have been departing from Azerbaijan of late, that those Armenian citizens had left Garabagh of their own free will. Our MPs also mentioned the reintegration programme wrought by Azerbaijan. It was said that those residents of the region who had left it could return to it, given there was every condition in place for them to do so.
Our delegation also exchanged opinions about various matters of shared interest with the delegation of Türkiye also attending the NATO PA annual session.
This trip to Denmark will be over on 10 October.
