A Baltic Assembly Committee Had a Meeting

The Education, Science and Culture Committee of the Baltic Assembly had a meeting on 26 March.

MP Elnur Allahverdiyev who helms the Milli Majlis Delegation to the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly joined the online meeting that covered the topics of strategic partnership in education and sciences between the Baltic States (considering the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact and the opportunities to broaden the co-operation) and the employment situation as well as the labour market during and after the COVID-19 pandemic with a view to the future of education in the Baltic States in the face of the new challenges.

MP Elnur Allahverdiyev took part in the topical discussion. He told the meeting participants of the current pandemic-related situation in Azerbaijan and of the efforts the government of the country has been making since March last year to eliminate the COVID-19 pandemic’s economic aftermath. He also spoke of the state support given to economic growth and business enterprising, about maintaining employment in the country as well as of the legislative changes implemented by the Parliament of Azerbaijan in view of the difficulties posed by the coronavirus infection.

The participating representatives of the other countries told of the pandemic-related steps being taken by their respective governments and shared the relevant experience then.
