PABSEC Committees Held Their Online Meetings
Two committees of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation had their respective online meetings attended by the member-states’ national delegations on 7 April.
The first one was the 57th meeting of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee at which the Milli Majlis was represented by the PABSEC Deputy Chair and leader of the Azerbaijan delegation Eldar Guliyev and a delegation member Jala Ahmadova.
The meeting participants approved the agenda and the minutes of the 56th committee meeting held in October last year. Then was heard the report ‘The Role of Parliaments in Countering Human Trafficking: the Legal Aspects’ and the relevant draft recommendations were tabled. The situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic was brought up in both presentations, too.
MP Jala Ahmadova told of the efforts made in our country to discourage human trafficking.
The participants of the meeting approved both the report and the draft recommendations.

The members of the Azerbaijani delegation to the PABSEC who joined the 56th meeting of the Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee were the chairman of the Milli Majlis Labour and Social Policy Committee Musa Guliyev and MP Ramin Mammadov.
There, too, the agenda meeting and the minutes of the 55th committee meeting (October 2020) were approved before the meeting participants listened to the report the report ‘The Role of Parliaments in Countering Human Trafficking: the Social Aspects’ and looked at the draft recommendations concerning the subject-matter. Both documents were approved after a thorough discussion.
Besides, the Committee looked at organisational matters; Serbia’s Zoltán Pék was elected Deputy Chairman of the Committee.
PABSEC Secretary General Asaf Hajiyev spoke at both committee meetings shedding lights on the matters brought up by the national delegations.
