TURKPA Representatives Go to Alley of Honour, Martyrs’ Lane and Turkish Martyrdom Monument

The participants of the 11th meeting (held in Baku) of the Legal Issues and International Relations Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States went to the Alley of Honour, the Martyrs’ Lane and the Turkish Martyrdom Memorial on 4 March.

First, on arrival in the Alley of Honour, they paid respect to the memory of our people’s National Leader, architect and builder of the modern Azerbaijani State Heydar Aliyev, and put fresh flowers on his gravestone.

In the Martyrs’ Lane next, they honoured the memory of the Motherland’s heroic sons who had given their lives away in the struggle for her freedom and independence. The guests also went over to the Eternal Flame Memorial.

Next, the TURKPA Commission members visited the Turkish Martyrdom Monument, erected in memoriam the heroic Turkish soldiers fallen in the battles for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and liberation of Baku in 1918. Bunches of flowers were put at the Monument.

The guests were kept company by Malahat Ibrahimghizi and Javanshir Feyziyev of Azerbaijan’s Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States and other officials.
