GNAT Delegation Go to Alley of Honour, Martyrs’ Lane and Turkish Martyrs’ Memorial
The visiting delegation under the Head of the mission of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT) to the NATO PA Mevlut Çavuşoghlu went to the Alley of Honour on 4 April to pay their deepest respects in memoriam the National Leader of our people, architect and builder of the modern Azerbaijani State Heydar Aliyev. A wreath was installed in front of his tombstone; fresh flowers were put down as well.
They also commemorated the outstanding ophthalmology researcher Zarifa Aliyeva whose gravestone was adorned with fresh flowers, too.
Next, the delegation went over to the Martyrs’ Lane to honour the memories of the heroic sons of the Motherland who had laid their lives down in the struggle for her freedom and sovereignty. Their gravestones were adorned with fresh flowers. The Turkish MPs also put a wreath at the Eternal Flame Memorial.
The Turkish guests were admiring the cityscape of Baku from the highest point of the Azerbaijani capital as they listened to a tale of the prehistory of the Martyrs’ Lane and the amenity and building work on all over the city.
Then, the delegation from Türkiye visited the Turkish Martyrs’ Memorial erected in honour of the Turkish soldiers who fell in the battles for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and liberation of Baku in 1918. There, too, a wreath was installed; the memorial itself was adorned with flower bouquets.
The GNAT delegation were kept company by the Chairman of the Milli Majlis Defence, Security and Anti-Corruption Committee Ziyafet Asgarov and other officials.
