Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova who is in St Petersburg, Russian Federation on a working visit to participate in the BRICS Parliamentary Forum and the meeting of the Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) has had meetings with Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China Zhao Leji, Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva and President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Tulia Ackson.

The meetings saw opinions exchanged about interparliamentary relations and international co-operation issues.
