Delegation of Parliament of Indonesia are Visiting in Our Country
On 6 August Chief of the Milli Majlis Staff Farid Hajiyev met with the visiting delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Administrative Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia Nasril Bahar.
Warmly greeting the guests on behalf of Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova, the Chief of Staff touched on the history of relations between our countries and voiced opinions about the prospects of the relationship.
As the Chief of Staff said, Azerbaijan is equally as interested in development of the inter-parliamentary ties with Indonesia as in other fields. He stressed the importance of the mutual visits of Heads of Parliament and members of working groups at various times as well as of the negotiations and periodical meetings had. Besides, satisfaction was mentioned with the fruitful co-operation of the two countries’ legislatures in international organisations.
Thanking for the hospitality extended to them, Deputy Chairman of the Administrative Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Republic of Indonesia Nasril Bahar said he was content with the stay in Azerbaijan. The guest proceeded to talk about the friendly relations between our countries and underscored the gravitas of co-operation between the two legislative assemblies, of exchange of experience and regular visits.
The conversation continued with Chief of the Milli Majlis Staff Farid Hajiyev answering the guests’ questions and commenting on various areas and growth prospects of inter-parliamentary co-operation.
Deputy Chiefs of the Milli Majlis Staff Yashar Amashov and Rustam Mahmudov as well as parliamentary Staff Department Heads and other officials took part in the meeting.
With the meeting over, the guests familiarised themselves with the Victory Corner in the foyer of the parliamentary administrative building. Deputy Chief of the Milli Majlis Staff Rustam Mahmudov supplied the guests with detailed information about Azerbaijan’s historic Victory in the 44 days’ Patriotic War.
The guests were then shown around the plenary sessions Chamber of the Parliament and provided with comprehensive detailed information about the activities of the Milli Majlis, the working conditions created for the MPs in the Chamber and the legislative procedures.
The guests were photographed in front of the monument to founder of the Azerbaijan State Heydar Aliyev and the Victory Corner in the foyer of the administrative building of the Parliament.
