Milli Majlis Speaker Sahiba Gafarova Meets with Kyrgyzstan Ambassador to Azerbaijan

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has had a meeting with the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan Maksat Mamytkanov.

The common history, culture, language and religion of our nations having laid a solid foundation for the development of the relations between the two countries were mentioned during the meeting. The relations of the two countries have been advancing firmly and in line with the friendship and mutual understanding principles since the acquisition of independence.

The exceptional significance of the reciprocal visits and of the meetings of the Heads of State for the progress of the bilateral relations was mentioned as the conversation went on. It was said that the relationship of our Presidents, which rests on mutual respect and confidence, as well as the active political dialogue bear substantially on the dynamics of the ties between the two countries.

Effective co-operation has been established between the two legislative bodies to date. The two-way visits of the Speakers of Parliament and the MPs as well as the on-going contacts amongst our MPs in various international and regional organisations contribute to the development of this collaboration.

Speaking up at the meeting at which the accelerated run-up to the COP29 was also mentioned, Ambassador Maksat Mamytkanov said that Kyrgyzstan as a fraternal country was glad of all the achievements of Azerbaijan.

The diplomatist conveyed congratulations on the successful election to the Milli Majlis and Sahiba Gafarova’s re-election as the Head of Parliament.

There was besides an exchange of opinions regarding other topics of shared interest.
