Secretary General of the International Parliamentary Congress Senator Sitara Ayaz has sent her condolences to Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova regarding the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane near Aktau.

The letter states: ‘In this difficult moment, I extend my condolences to you, the government, and the people of Azerbaijan. The loss of so many lives is a profound and painful tragedy. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those who perished in this tragedy, and we can only imagine their immense pain. 

‘We wish a speedy and full recovery to all those injured as a result of the incident.

‘I am certain that the people of Azerbaijan will, through mutual support, cope with this. We also express our solidarity with you.’
