Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova Receives Outbound Ambassador of Türkiye to Azerbaijan Cahit Bağçı
Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has received Türkiye’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Cahit Bağçı on 24 January on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in the country.
Their meeting had an exchange of views on the relations between the two brotherly nations and their parliaments.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova once again expressed her condolences to the brotherly people of Turkey regarding the tragic fire in Bolu. She mentioned her letter of condolence to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, and emphasised that Azerbaijan always stands by the brotherly Turkey.
During the conversation, it was noted that effective steps had been taken to further strengthen the relations between the brotherly nations during Ambassador Cahit Bağçı’s diplomatic tenure in Azerbaijan.
The meeting also highlighted that the brotherly ties between Azerbaijan and Turkey, based on the slogan “One nation, two states” of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, continue to flourish under the leadership of the two countries’ presidents, Mr Ilham Aliyev and Mr Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. It was emphasised that no other nations in the world are as close to one another as Azerbaijan and Turkey.
They emphasised, in particular, that the signing of the Shusha Declaration, which officially formalises the allied relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, has ushered in a new stage of bilateral ties. The role of the parliaments in further deepening and expanding these relations was also highlighted. The legislative bodies and deputies of both countries consistently support each other on all platforms and present a unified stance in international organisations.
Ambassador Cahit Bağçı expressed his gratitude for the attention and support extended to him, noting that he remains committed to contributing to the strengthening of the brotherhood and alliance between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
