Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova Met with Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Guo Min
The Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova had a meeting with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Azerbaijan Guo Min on 4 November.
The Speaker welcomed the guest, said that she was glad to see her at the Milli Majlis and stressed the great importance that Azerbaijan attaches to developing the relations with the friendly People’s Republic of China.
Speaking of the roles of the state leaders in developing the bilateral relations, the Chair of the Milli Majlis highlighted their exchanged visits and mentioned the 81 documents signed between the two countries to date to form a reliable legal foundation for the future progress of the relations. She also spoke of the more than 100 Chinese companies registered and operating successfully in Azerbaijan.
Mrs Gafarova said then that the relations between the supreme legislative bodies of the two countries set high standards, in many respects thanks to the working groups for Interparliamentary contacts. She praised the co-operation between the MPs of the two sides in the international parliamentary organisations before underscoring the importance of exchanging visits once the pandemic would be over.
The Speaker also touched on the co-operation during the COVID-19 pandemic and thanked China for her support and help to our country in its struggle against it.
Sahiba Gafarova informed the guest of the state of affairs in the near-front zone thoroughly whilst talking about the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Highland Garabagh.
Ambassador Guo Min thanked for the warm welcome, remarked that her country attached a great importance to furthering its relations with the Azerbaijan Republic, underlined the special role of Interparliamentary ties in advancing the bilateral relations and said that China hoped the Armenian-Azeri conflict over Highland Garabagh would be resolved in the nearest future so that peace and stability could be restored to the region.
The meeting also saw an exchange of opinions about the matters of shared interest.
