Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova had a meeting on 28 February with President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova.

As she greeted her guest, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis spoke about the significance of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation. She said that Azerbaijan places special importance on strengthening the Turkic World. As President Ilham Aliyev said, ‘We have no other family. The Turkic World is our family’.

The Speaker emphasised that the Foundation, established on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, provides an opportunity for Turkic peoples to better understand each other's culture and heritage, as well as promotes tighter bonds amongst our fraternal nations.

The Speaker of the Milli Majlis also mentioned the effective functioning of the Foundation and emphasised that there is great potential and, most importantly, the will to further expand its activities.

It was remarked during the conversation that the Foundation plays an important bridging role in preserving, promoting, and passing on the rich cultural heritage of the Turkic World to future generations. By highlighting the values of the Turkic peoples and strengthening intercultural dialogue, the Foundation makes a significant contribution to this field. The work being carried out creates conditions for better global recognition of the Turkic World and greater appreciation of its values.

President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Ms Aktoty Raimkulova thanked for the warm welcome and referred to the establishment of the Foundation as a correct and farsighted decision. She stressed that culture was a soft force and played an important role in bringing peoples closer together.

The guest told about the work done by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, about the accomplished projects and pending plans as the conversation drew on. She said that the words of President Ilham Aliyev ‘We have no other family. The Turkic World is our family’ had become their motto and that they organised their work along precisely that vector.
