Inter-Parliamentary Co-operation Commission of Republic of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, Russian Federation’s Federal Assembly Holds a Scheduled Meeting

The 22nd meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Co-operation Commission of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Assembly of Russian Federation took place on 17 March. Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova and Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko took the floor at the opening ceremony.

Sahiba Gafarova and Valentina Matviyenko touched upon the importance of inter-parliamentary links in their greeting speeches. Besides, both Speakers stated their views upon MPs’ activities within the Inter-Parliamentary Co-operation Commission.

Chairman of the Milli Majlis Culture Committee Polad Bulbuloglu was decorated with the Parliamentarianism Development Merits Badge of Honour from the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russian Federation at the event.

The meeting of the Azerbaijan-Russia Inter-Parliamentary Commission continued then.

The Commission Co-chairmen – First Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis Ali Ahmadov and First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia Andrey Yatskin – informed the assembly of the agenda.

The 22nd meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Co-operation Commission of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Assembly of Russian Federation concluded with the discussion of the agenda.

The Azerbaijani and Russian members of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission as well as representatives of concerned government authorities took part in the meeting.
