A meeting at Milli Majlis

Chairman of the Azerbaijani parliamentary Committee for Sciences and Education and leader of the Milli Majlis Working Group for interparliamentary contacts with Indonesia Bakhtiyar Aliyev met with the Ambassador of Indonesia to our country Hildi Hamid on 21 April.

Mr Aliyev wished Hildi Hamid success in his forthcoming work, mentioned the friendly ties between Azerbaijan and Indonesia as well as their spiritual proximity and said with confidence that Mr Ambassador is going to make a contribution of his own to the continued progress of the mutual relations.

The Milli Majlis Committee Chairman also spoke of the Armenian vandalism in the liberated lands. He told Mr Hamid of the town of Agdam which is where Mr Aliyev was born and raised, and which is called the Azerbaijani Hiroshima due to the scale of destruction there nowadays. Mr Aliyev mentioned with pleasure the Indonesian support to Azerbaijan’s fair stance reliant on the international laws and justice as well as to the territorial wholeness of Azerbaijan throughout the occupation years. He also told Mr Hamid of the building and restoration work in progress in the liberated lands.

Hildi Hamid thanked Mr Aliyev for the kind reception before stating his intention to spare no effort to ensure a continued progress of the bilateral relations. The diplomatist said he had visited the liberated territories of the Azerbaijan Republic and taken stock of the situation there personally. He expressed admiration at the current work he had witnessed in those areas, adding that Indonesian companies would wish to join that work.

There was an exchange of views on the importance of the interparliamentary relations, humanitarian and educational co-operation, joint activities under the auspices of international organisations and other matters of shared interest at the meeting.
