On 12 June, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with the Speakers of Parliament of the TURKPA Member States. Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova participated in that meeting.

The President of Kazakhstan said that TURKPA exerts a significant influence on the economic, cultural and humanitarian development of our countries, and that its potential should be harnessed to achieve the shared objectives of our peoples.

Recalling that Kazakhstan had chaired the Organisation of Turkic States last year, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave an overview of the work accomplished during that period.

As he underscored TURKPA’s role in deepening the co-operation amongst the Turkic states, the President of Kazakhstan stated that strengthening the collaboration is particularly vital amidst contemporary challenges. According to the Head of State, Kazakhstan places special importance on inter-parliamentary ties and people’s diplomacy amongst the fraternal nations. TURKPA stands as a prestigious international organisation and a unique institution, offering opportunities to enhance cooperation. Joint activities within this organisation hold significant value.

‘Kazakhstan wholly supports the parliamentary diplomacy of the Turkic states. We shall overcome these difficult times and give a powerful impetus to the growth of our economies, acting together and in a spirit of solidarity,’ Kassym-Jomart Tokayev concluded.
