Documents Signed between Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan

The Plan of Practical Measures for the Development of Inter-Parliamentary Co-operation for 2025–2026 (a Roadmap) has been signed between the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The signing ceremony took place in Khiva in Uzbekistan on the sidelines of the First Uzbek-Azerbaijani Inter-Parliamentary Forum. The document was signed by Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova on behalf of Azerbaijan and by Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva on behalf of Uzbekistan.

It was remarked at the signing ceremony that this document would contribute to further expansion of the co-operation between the legislative assemblies of the two countries via implementation of practical measures.

It should be said that, also during the ceremony, the parties signed the Regulations of the Commission on Inter-Parliamentary Co-operation between the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The MPs are elected as based on the majority electoral system by free, private and confidential vote reliant on the general, equitable and immediate suffrage. The tenure of a Milli Majlis convocation is 5 years.
